b956657c50b5071f119f8c4933e883e5 a small shelf for the apps that feel like home. :) They’re the ones that bring comfort without overwhelming me, and i really appreciate that they don’t constantly throw ads my way.

💾 yuma yuma is a quirky app that lets you bring objects to life. you simply point your phone at an object, snap a photo, and it becomes part of your collection. the fun part is that these objects develop their own personalities and even start chatting with other objects from other users. it's a strange but fun way to interact with the world around you. i’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s always a surprise what the objects have to say!

💾 farmer and tree farmer and tree isn’t really a game in the usual sense — it feels more like a quiet corner on my phone. you adopt a bare mountain, plant trees, and slowly watch it grow. every few days, the game sends you letters, postcards, and new seeds. i like opening it for a few minutes each day, just to check in and see what’s changed. it’s slow, peaceful, and strangely comforting.

💾 yawn away flying is usually painful for me — my ears hate it. i found Yawn Away by chance and now i always have it on my phone. it’s a little matching game that gets you yawning (on purpose), and that helps a lot with the pressure. it works offline too so i can use it during takeoff and landing without wifi. surprisingly helpful.

💾 kiwix kiwix is an offline app that gives you access to educational content from sites like wikipedia, even when you don’t have internet. this is especially useful for me since i avoid using data on my phone. i can download articles i want to read before my travels and spend my time learning about various topics on the go. recently, i’ve also started translating wikipedia, and kiwix makes that super easy offline.

💾 gather - handheld curiosity a personal collection and archiving tool that acts as a local-first database client and a social platform for sharing rather than broadcasting. this is ideal for note-takers, archivists, and digital curators to store meaningful moments, ideas, inspirations, and more. it also optionally syncs with are.na. no ads, no logins, no tracking—everything is stored on your device.
